Joinery Product Engineer

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with clients and our site teams to design bespoke joinery products, and translate design ideas into tangible products that satisfy customer requirements
  • Managing the full product lifecycle from the initial idea to the finished manufacture
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure all specifications and BS EN Standards are met and identifying potential hazards
  • Sourcing all required materials involved in the creation of a bespoke product and negotiating with suppliers
  • Conducting production handovers with the Workshop Foreman
  • Working closely with the Workshop Foreman and Joinery Manager to produce comprehensive production packs to release to manufacturing
  • Where required, testing product prototypes to identify and adjust design flaws
  • Creating and producing CNC Programs and liaising with the Joinery CNC Supervisor
  • Producing Product and Room Designs and Renders to present to clients using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Working with the Joinery leadership team and the Joinery Estimator to provide product cost estimates and producing quotes for clients
  • Researching potential new materials and machinery that will aid the growth of our product range
  • Supporting the Joinery Manager, Workshop Foreman and Joinery Estimator

Anticipated/ Aspirational Qualifications/Experience/Technical knowledge:

  • Must have experience of working as a Product or Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Creative Thinking
  • A portfolio of Product Engineering work undertaken
  • Excellent in-depth knowledge and demonstrable skills in using CAD software packages
  • Demonstratable experience of CNC programming
  • Knowledge of BS EN Furniture Standards and experience of working within ISO 9000
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with multiple projects at a time
  • Experience in cost estimating in a manufacturing environment (preferably wood manufacture)
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office packages
  • Knowledge of the JoinerySoft software program
  • Knowledge of the B-Nest software program
