The Fratry Carlisle Cathedral

The first significant structural works since the 1830s, a new chapter in the Fratry’s 900 year old history was complete in 2020. Cubby Construction provided temporary support works to facilitate the rotation and raising of the stone arched Smirke doorway located in the NW corner of this Grade 1 listed building.

Completing these important structural works enabled the building of the Fratry café extension, designed and built around this important historical element. As main contractor for the entire build, we would like to thank all partners involved in this once in a lifetime project.
