The Company is particularly active in concrete works associated with road building, drainage and remediation, having delivered a series of complex drainage Cascades along the M6 as it travels through the Cumbrian hills. These cascades required excavation of steeply graded, rocky ground, laying of a reinforced base, and installation of a cast concrete spillway demanding unique shuttering provision by the Company’s joinery factory.

In addition to the installation of drainage, curbing and spillways, the Company are also proven experts in the provision of concrete works for warehouse slabs, level docking bays and the high impact roadways and parking areas typically used in haulage depots and truck parks.

The Company has a long history in the construction and refurbishment of bridges. Works range from large scale constructions, such as the remote Garpel Bridge construction in Ayrshire, through major refurbishments of road bridges – like the key A69 bridge at Devil’s Bridge, Kirby Lonsdale – to installation of small pre-formed spans like the private beck crossing at Croasdale, Cumbria.

The Company’s attention to detail, extensive fleet of plant and tools, highly experienced workforce, and ability to work in a variety of materials; ranging from steel work and preformed spans, through complex reinforced concrete, to brick and stone cladding; places Cubby in the ideal position for bridgeworks delivery.

Cubby deliver a comprehensive range of concrete sealing, repair and refinishing work to a variety of concrete structures, ranging from bridge abutments and spans to hard standing, casons and spillways.

Timely remediation by Cubby of frost damage and erosion significantly extends the working life of structural concrete and substantially reduces the risk of failure and the potential for dangerous falling debris.
